ASBURY PARK NEWS 5/09

Back in the 70's & 80's Asbury Park was hallmark for NJ shore travelers including Bruce Springsteen.

It was just announced by the State of the Shore report, that the people's choice award for the best NJ beaches moved up Asbury Park to #5 on their list this year. Tom Gilmour, the city's director of economic development, said the national exposure from last year's survey helped boost the city's rating this year and played a significant role in the 30 percent increase in beach visitors over the previous year.

"It's just Asbury Park's time," Gilmour said. "We've worked very hard. We're doing everything right. It's finally coming together. People are coming to Asbury Park."

JC Promotions, Inc. is now producing a series of 3 events on the Asbury Park boardwalk. The name of these events is:

Sunday, June 28 (rain date 7/5) this event will feature a combination of new merchandise, arts and crafts and kid friendly exhibitors. There will be a kids section, live music and great food.

Sunday, July 26 (rain date 8/2)-featuring over 50 exhibitors showing handcrafted works. If you are interested in exhibiting in this juried event, please submit 3 pictures of your work and 1 of your set up by mail or email.

GIANT Flea Market w/Crafts & Collectibles, too!
Sunday, Aug. 30-this event is held outdoors in Bradley Park (across from the Convention Center...1 block from the boardwalk) open to the public from 9-5PM. There will be exhibitors selling new items, arts & crafts, antiques & collectibles as well as tag sale items. All categories of merchandise will have their own section and will not be mixed together. Spaces fees are from $25-$45. Your vehicle is allowed to stay at your exhibit site.

It will be announced on our website event listings and on our office line. If canceled, your payment will be credited to another JC event in 2009.
